Welcome to the Geeknbury wiki! Please feel free to add ideas, pages and links to form a plan of action as to how we can make Geeknbury 2008 a reality. This is a public wiki so please keep the exact location of the festival as vague as possible.
Ideally we would like to create a family friendly festival where 'normal people' can integrate and learn from social media geek types keen to blog, film, tweet and share in a festival enviroment.
What we have sorted so far:
Large field - 6 acres
Loos - 5 portable
Tents - 2 - one large 40 foot by 20 foot and one 20x20 foot
Food & Beer - provided for saturday night dinner, beer/cider/soft drinks and Sunday morning bacon butties, Coffee and tea (covered by paid for ticket holders)
Electricity - a wired spur from the main house
Hot tubs - 2 x 8 person (one for kids, one for adults)
Wifi - is available but currently low, probably about 2 mb
Fire pit
Entertainment
Making water rockets from empty plastic bottles (they fire 60 foot into the air!)
Team games - non-stop cricket, rounders, football
Garden tours - Gertrude Jeykll water garden
Band(s) for Saturday night. Main evening act (jazz/blues/soul review with singer Gwyn Allen fronting), and I think main afternoon act, Isadore & Clay (folk rock) and I think a classical octet as well.

Casper the rocket man (..With two helicopters and a van that runs on rocket fuel.)

Should Mike Atherton manage to sort out films, a projector and a screen.. Do we have anywhere to put it? Is there a screen source-able on site to save the transport. Could we make one i.e stretch the correct kind of material over a frame?
